get a couple of pals, sit down at a table whilst holding hands. place card in front of each pal reading as follows: stormy, much rain, rain, change, fair, set fair, and very dry. Abreviate for number of pals eg for three pals: stormy, change and dry. Doesn't work with less than three.

place upturned glass in centre of table.

Each intones or chants (rising descant with choral filigrees adds authenticity and works on difficult days) suitable dirge eg witches witterings from MacBeth or Kylie Minogue's latest but don't forget to include the date.

wait until glass moves. may take a long time ........ but works every time

hope that helps ...

Re: Damn!

the computers were sent by royal mail from bracknell when met moved to exeter and haven't arrived yet so they rely on alternative west country techniques which is much more attractive to tourists & grockels than room full of whirring machinery ... cheaper too ...

Re: Damn!

Ah now that explains why the forecast 14 knots for Milford Haven last saturday was a steady 22-25 knots (recorded at Skomer). I had a quite hectic afternoon...
