looks like pretty light winds according to MetCheck so I don't like that one!
Anyone seen a better forecast that I can choose to use instead?

You can usually rely on the Met Office to forecast winds at least two forces higher on the Beaufort scale than anyone else (and usually three higher than reality) but at the moment even they are predicting F1-2 for Saturday.

At that we won't even make it to the Needles

Hi Dave,

I use a couple of the weather links on the www.boathook.com website which usually provide good information. The best being 'Solent Weather' and 'UK Wind Forecast' for short term forecasts. Unfortunately, neither of these are currently showing information beyond early hours of Saturday but the theme still seems to agree with your forecast!

Looks like being a very long race.....

Tom

I don't know - a forecast of something between F1 and F11 stands a good chance of being accurate

They have been good every time this year I have gone sailing, seems a far better program for forecasts than the BBCs. Why not make your own forecast up from the various pressure, cloud and wind charts that are available from the US miltary, Met office etc.

I just had a look at theyr, and they seem to have a nice forecast, SE2-3 increasing S4. Not much sign of it on the Met office MSLP charts though.
