WaveInn is part of a large European sports business. I have used them in the past and they are a good price and quick to deliver. I ordered a dinghy which suited me better than the others on offer to be sent to France (from Spain). I waited and waited. Over a month went by, though 5 or 6 days was expected time. The delivery firm (who had already delivered to the address I gave) held onto it for two weeks, then sent it out and claimed it could not be delivered since the wrong address had been given. Contact with WaveInn seems to be with AI agents - nothing was ever done or no helpful reply given. The tracking site now says that it is on its way back to Spain. I've ordered one from the local chandler, despite not being quite what I want.

I think this is the way of AI - slop all over the place - and enshitification. I've asked my bank for Charge Back to be applied.

I try as far as possible to avoid large internet purchases.

A couple of months ago, I drove to BHG Marine in Lymington to look at a particular AB dinghy I'd seen at the Dusseldorf boat show.

Very helpful people showed me several models, I manhandled one particular size to feel how easy it might be to turn over, put on foredeck etc. Placed order, few weeks later, they showed up at my house with a flatbed with my new dinghy on it.

You can't beat face to face bricks and mortar businesses, lets keep them supported.
