Originals, Centurion and Praetorian, Holman and Pye designed, extremely well-built, never owned one, but sailed in a couple.
Next to Amel the best French boats made, QAS-wise streets ahead of any UK-built boats.
Unfortunately fell prey to the Beneteau combine - but the 40' I was on board in Corinth was streets ahead of any BenJans in fit-out, but rather more plastic-interior and modern than the originals.
The owner (he'd had it for 6 months) reckoned it was a fast, very seaworthy boat - two of them had brought it from UK to Corinth in 10 days, which bore out his assertion.

Excellent quality boats. They incorporate "twaron" in their hulls, (at least they used to) the material used for bullet proof vests.

I have just bought a third hand Wauquiez PS 40, and first impresion is of excelent quality and very seaworthy.

All fitting and equipment is oversized.

The Gladiateur 33 is an extremely handsome boat, beautiful lines and lovely to sail.

No longer part of the Bene group, but back in 2003 they used Jen hulls - perhaps they still do as they dont show any pics of hull manufacture only fit out.

That said in the current climate the performance of the Bene group is impressive. I just wish some UK industry had their "problems" - see below

I've sailed a lot in a friend's Gladiateur 33 - nice quick boat with pretty good seakeeping. For some unaccountable reason he's selling it in order to buy one of Sunsail's clapped-out 37s.

Haggling over - sale agreed subject to survey. I said goodbye to my old boat today so I am boatless for a while.
