Wauquiez Gladiator

I've seen a Wauquiez Gladiator (Gladiatuer?) (Holman & Pye construction) and I very much like the look of it, and the price is good too.

Are they to be recommended? Any information on the type would be greatly appreciated.

One called Imperateur used to do very well in Solent Points and RORC racing. Don't know whether that's any recommendation for your purposes. Kim Holman and Don Pye are very accomplished designers, who probably never quite got the credit which is their due.

So how about a Sadler 32? I've heard that they're fine boats, and there's also one for sale close to me...?

I've no direct knowledge of the Gladiateur, but I think it is the replacement for/updating of the Centurion 32 - which I own. Also a Holman and Pye design with similar looks and layout.

I've found this a very good boat - sailing ability and build quality are both very good, the only drawback being that the accommodation is more restricted than its length might suggest, particularly by today's standards.
