I’m looking for anyone who purchased a watermaker at this boat show from a company offering the watermaker and a free flexible solar panel as a boat show offer. I took up the offer and paid at the show. After several weeks I had to chase up the watermaker and following excuses and then delivery delays, I finally received it. The solar panel was not there nor any explanation for it being missing. Naturally I chased this up and was told awaiting stock. Then again, then again, then a few weeks ago, due in early next week, will dispatch straight away. This didn’t happen either. Due to it not appearing in the first place with no explanation and the subsequent failures to supply it, I’m beginning to suspect there is no intention to supply it. Before taking this further I’d be interested to know if anyone else purchasing at the show and taking up the same offer has had similar difficulties. It may be obvious to some who the company is but I won’t name them without giving them fair warning but if this doesn’t resolve soon, I will do.

Don't know who the company is, but if you paid by card, even a debit card you might be able to get your bank to reclaim all or or some of the funds.

Thanks for pointing that out, looks bad. Might as well say the company is Sailfish Marine and the website has been taken down. I can only assume the worse unless anyone knows otherwise. I guess I’m lucky to at least have received the watermaker.

Hmmmm - I bought a watermaker from these guys at the Southampton show with the free solar panel deal - got the watermaker and it is great but was told solar panels were out of stock - I spoke to them and they were very apologetic and helpful. Solar panel arrived last Friday - must say I am very happy with the deal and the customer service - have you spoken to them? I called them today with a query on my watermaker install and received good answers and some helpful tips.

Have you spoken to Jim at Sailfish?? he has helped me numerous times and always been very professional. Mistakes can happen and my experience tells me it is always best to speak with someone to get things sorted.

I have always found Jim at Sailfish very helpful ans professional, having dealt with him for several years. Have you spoken to them about this problem? Mistakes can happen and problems are often sorted muck quicker this way.

Hi there Colvic Vivacity - this is Rob from Sailfish Marine in Southampton replying to your post.
Yes we were out of stock of the solar panels in our offer (sorry these things happen) but I am pleased to say new stocks arrived last week and all of our outstanding orders were dispatched. Sorry but we do not know who you are to check - perhaps you could call us?? It sure would help to clear things up! And just to make things clear our website is 100% operational as our phone lines, email, postman still comes, visitors welcome etc etc. :):)

Hi Colvic Vivacity
It is now several days since we posted the note below - we appear to have had no contact from you and unfortunately we do not know who you are to check from our end.
Perhaps you could contact us so we can put this to bed. Many thanks Rob - Sailfish Marine Southampton.

@colvic Vivacity , although I don't have one of Jim WM when I was building mine I found him very held full with info I needed , I see sailfish has posted twice asking you to contact them , it be a good idea to do so and maybe then you can report back with better info about the company .

I have tried to reply and thank everyone who offered advice and to Sailfish for confirming that actually all was well. I’m at the stage where what I post has to be approved and doing it from my iPhone while away didn’t seem to work.
I’m pleased to find that the company is alive and well, I can only say that the lack of communications and the apparent taking down of the website led me and others to think all was lost. While I’m sure the proprietor and staff are very nice people, not telling customers what’s happening is going to lead to the wrong impression. To finish, I can confirm that three months after paying for it, I have finally received the panel.
