I just replied to a thread about Skoda cars and boats and someone said many posters here may watch Below Decks.

Anyone know how to watch it?

We have Netflix only. Google states it is on Bravo (iirc) and only available to USA residents.

It’s on Netflix -I’ve only watched when on holiday with daughter and SiL but it was a way of passing the odd hour or 2 . Have you tried searching by the captain name on google to learn more?

I will try the search parameters you suggest.

So far I have only found one season (number 8) I think.

Try also YouTube and you might find a free trial for 7 days of hayu -I haven’t used but captain Lee and his crews of selected wannabes can become tiring -you might notice you never see certain key roles performing which would be found on such a vessel.that said some of the stews are true to life I’m told but maybe short on the krug and white stuff

I was referring to the average BBC News reader, not a forumite.

Can you imagine forking out one hundred grand for a couple of weeks getaway on the water with your family….and the crew think it’s all about them

Captain Lee is a bit different from the American Lady skipper who always seems to keep her cool; a sign of a good skipper.

Cptn Lee was dropped from the show I heard.

It is very casual LAZY viewing I admit (or consider imho) but better than things such as Eastenders (that I used to refuse to be allowed to be viewed - I last saw it decades ago).

We do not have a tv licence now and have disconnected leads, wires and cables to the tv so only watch Netflix.

I am sure that working on these vessels is a pain short term, but the tips of £2k for three days seems good for the crew.

I cannot imagine much of what I see on Below Decks.

There are some very rich people out there and some seem pretty ridiculous.

The ones we see gain a discount for being televised, so that says something of their nature.

It is a bit of a social experiment viewing perhaps.

UK.

We watch this show occasionally, usually as "filler" while looking for something better.

It regularly confirms my early experiences of the fledgling "superyacht industry" (pre MCA code days); that it is something I want no part of.
That said, I've pals who've made a good long term living out of it, having been dumped by UK MN fleets in the 80s.

imho...appalling that this yacht is run by "professionals", and under the Red Ensign to boot!

Don't know what channel the TV show is on, but its one of the Freeview ones, free with the TV set, and quite near the top in the listings. Certainly not that obscure as i trip over it regularly. 19.00 /20.00 ish..
(I'm overseas atm, so can't verify).

We cancelled Netflix quite a while ago.

I'd guess the two are probably related. A good, competent, drama-free crew and considerate guests certainly make for a good holiday, but pretty boring TV.

We subscribed to Hayu within Amazon Prime TV, it's a couple of quid a month that way and works on Apple and Android TV devices (and probably others). I believe you can now also subscribe to Hayu within AppleTV+. Both options feel easier than subscribing direct to Hayu

I think there are two versions; ‘Below deck sailing yacht’ and whatever the other is called. I’ve never watched either but did have a ‘face to face’ with the sailing yacht which wasn’t a good experience.

There's several versions, below decks Med, down under, sailing yacht and another one I can't be bothered to remember.

I think they are on E4 extra or similar.

I enjoy watching with half an eye as the people who go on these cruises make me wonder how on earth they got their money and reinforcing my view that the rich are largely a bunch of s***s. The crews composed of young, good looking people tend to fancy each other which often ends in tears and I do wonder if the shows aren't designed to do just that.

It's television, it's fake acting. Like most TV including the "news". I rarely watch live TV and especially celebrity type shows nor the news.

I'm remember the days when BBC News was reliable, now it's just for clicks.

I'm sure all of us have come from one profession or another and seen how our job is represented on TV and how far that is from the truth/reality. No doubt these sort of shows are the same. Mind you I haven't been out on Henry's boat yet :ROFLMAO:
