Hi

We find normal washing-up liquid usually works fine in salt water. The key to saving fresh water (if thats the intention for washing in salt) is to use a spary bottle to rinse off the salt - you know on of those sprays people use to mist indoor plants etc. You use very little fresh water to get rid of the salt.

Cheers

Is a good idea! I always wash up in seawater unless we're in some filthy harbour.
However the more delicate crew don't like salt on their glasses.
Don't fit electric freshwater taps and get the crew to help occasionally with hauling
jerry cans of water aboard, it makes them more frugal.

Ordinary washing up liquid works fine. Never bothered with rinsing with fresh. I guess I'm a real roughty-toughty or have no palate.

no, it is a brilliant idea. It also saves on carrying all that salt on board that inevitably gets caked up in the soggy box /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
