I worked out in Perth a few years ago. Left london on the 5th February, temperature MINUS 18C and we were delayed while they de-iced the wings of the plane.

Arrived in Perth, Temperature PLUS 42C ! !

Now that was a shock to the system.

I enjoyed the sailing tremendously, though. No foul weathes gear & wooly hats - Just shorts & T-shirt. Wonderful.

I was just sorry when the job finished and I had to come home to dear old Scotland

You have a warm country with lots of great places to see and lots to do, you're not bad at sport - What I can't understand is why so many of you come and live in a cold and damp UK!

Re: heat?

Can't stand that type of heat, it's bad for the soul. And, what about the flies, zillions of em all jumping from one turd to another, then onto your barby and salad!

Cold and Frosty

Yesterday morning I awoke to a cold and frosty morning with brilliant sunshine.

I drove across the New Forest to work passing ponies, cows and donkeys through Beaulieu with its ancient Abbey (ancient means very old Brian – something the Aussies are unacquainted with I believe) and looked at the sparkling water of Beaulieu river.

The crisp morning air was wonderful - a complete and welcome change to the heat of summer – which wasn’t too bad either. No drought, no fires. Can’t be bad!

“Pass another log for the fire darling”

Hope that makes you feel better – g’day.

Last weekend

I installed a woodburner in my front room.
Its warmer in there than in Adelaide.
Anyway - we need cold and frost to kill off the germs. My granny used to say something about mild winters filling graveyards.
She used to say a lot of things - wish I'd written them all down!

regards
