WANTED STARTER FOR SAAB INBOARD

I AM TRYING TO FIND A LEFT HAND STARTER FOR A SAAB ENGINE MODEL HG 8 HP 1977 BUT CANNOT SEEM TO FIND ONE UP HERE IN SCOTLAND.

If you still have the old unit have you tried some of the companies who repair old units, not sure where you are but there is one called Shandon in Bellshill who have hundreds of units on the shelves. You may find that your unit is a standard automobile type. I am sure that some of the old Volvo engines had Peugeot starter motors (sold by Volvo at three times the price I am sure)

Is it a Dynastart unit? If you have the old one, go to your nearest LSUK (Lucas) branch. They're fixing mine right now.

no i do not have a starter for the engine.it just has a hand start.
