Hi All,

I am looking for recommendations on a boat.

I would like something like an S23 but my budget is around £25K.

Did see a nice Regal 272, think a 1995 which isn't too old, but what else should I be looking for?

Would need the following:-
Four births
Heads/Shower/Hot and cold water
Single diesel
Greater than 20 but less than 30 foot
Preferably no older than 1995
Needs to look like a sports boat (like the S23) but not just a cuddy speed boat.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Ricky

If you want a Sealine S23, i'd start putting offers in for them at £25k, regardless of the asking price. You may find a motivated seller, especially if you're prepared to do a bit of tidying.

Is the Regal diesel, very few US boats of that age are diesels, so if it is, it has probably been re-engined.

I can certainly point you in the direction of an S23 ( /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif) but £25k won't get you anywhere near I'm afraid /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif.

That £25k S23 in Spain I would say is a once off from a seller who is desperate to sell. Crikey, if I could get an S23 (with a trailer) in the UK for £25k i'd buy 3!

Since there's no trailer with that S23 you'd want to be adding about £3-4k for transport to the UK, and about £1k extra between flights, accomodation, food etc. - You'd be better off just buying a trailer and pulling it back to the UK yourself

There are a lot of overpriced boats about that have been for sale for maybe a year or more. If you are looking at photos ask for current ones, a boat can deteriorate an awful lot in that time if she hasn't been maintained.
Worth contacting various brokers, telling them what you want and what you will pay?

Fair point, however as a seller of an S23, if anyone offered £25k the answer would be an absolute no. And if that was all I could get for her, I'd keep her.

Got the cash here now, sure I can't tempt you? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

If you don't have to sell best to keep and enjoy your boat. Given the state of the pound have you advertised her abroad? I am not an economist but I think the technical term is stagflation. I suppose it is a bit of a stand-off between sellers and buyers, it will be interesting to see what happens.
Anyone out there with a more informed viewpoint?

We want to sell but are in no rush so keep using our boat in the mean time. She is advertised on websites that are accessed across Europe so covered from that side. We are lucky - if we don't get the offer we want, we keep her. If we do, we sell her and buy another. Either way, we have a boat. As I said, we are very lucky.

I hope the OP finds what he's looking for and the price he wants.

I'm the same, have an S23 and looking for an S28 but reckon i'll just stick with the S23 for a while as it's hard to sell anything at the minute. No prob with the S23 and will continue to use it until the day she sells.

Guess we're in the same position anne! How about we swap S23's? /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Sounds a bit like moving into your spare room for a week to pretend you're going on the holiday you can't afford.

Reckon i'll just stick with the S23 for a while. For it's size it has hot water, hot air, a jacks that's big enough for me... and that sink! I love the sink, it's huge for the size of boat meaning you can actually wash stuff in it

You sound more domesticated than I am! And what's this hot air stuff? Maybe I'll consider your suggestion after all /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Why not enquire about the one in Spain? Just add about £4k to the final selling price for transport of boat/flights/food etc.

You're not going to get an S23 for £25k overall imho unless you find some poor bugger who's desperate to sell (which isin't anne or I by any means) - We're selling to upgrade and spend more money, not to get out financial difficulty /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Sums my position up nicely /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif. I'm lucky to not have to sell for financial reasons - as Alt says Paul and I are looking to upgrade to a 30+ft with twin diesels but are quite happy with our S23 in the meantime. At £25k it would cost us a lot of dosh to sell her to you. You don't insult me but given her asking price (she's the S23 on boatshed in Plymouth if you want a look) an offer from someone of £25k is a bit of a waste of everyone's time /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
