Wallet today

Very wise Peter, saw you making preparations last week during the forty minute break in the weather !
Any consolation we are now not going to the RIR because of this poxy weather + we broke our crew racing last saturday. Now £80 entry fee adrift and boat provisioned for four people with no prospect of using....
I too hate summer !

Had a quick blast down and back up the Wallet on Saturday, was a bit bumpy:D

Spent Friday night on a mooring at Levington, and slept through the 42 kt gusts at midnight (according to POF wind gauge site)

Never noticed the tide quite so low there, one boat on mooring outside Levington entrance was leaning as it sat on the mud, and my rudder was stuck in despite the sounder showing 1.2m beneath the keel. Must be quite a slope there under the moorings, that and the strong cross-river wind.

I too had a good blast out towards the naze, in about 26knts true then one of my guests turned green, her indoors lost winch handle over the side in a tack and in the headless chicken moment that followed ripped the foot of my ancient genoa
