I too have followed them with interest for some years after viewing a very well equipped one at Moody's used boat show some years back. Prices do seem generally low for what you are getting. I understand many were home completed, and of course its essentially a motor-sailer with emphasis on the 'motor'.
Unfortunately too big for me .... couldn't afford the mooring fees.
We have a slightly older Voyager 38, not that that helps you much. I heard (or dreamt) that Trident extended the hull moulding (shared by the Warrior and Challenger) by 2ft to make it the Voyager 40, although I do not know how that sits with the Voyager 40's twin engine arrangement.
Contrary to another reply, despite the size and appearance the sailing performance (on the 38 at least) is very acceptable although i tend not to trouble the canvas for anything less than 10-12 knots apparent. Pointing could possbly be improved by adding a Genoar track inboard rather than the original toe rail snatchblock arrangement.
Imho they are a good, solid boat, a lot of which you get for your money.
I am currently considering replacing the extensive treadmaster which has become somewhat tatty, and there is some crazing of the gel around windows and in the cockpit/bridgedeck area that I may practice some diy gelcoat repairs on. Also we found last lift out some hairline cracks in the hull gelcoat which are due for some investigation this winter.
When Trident folded I believe the moulds were bought by Northshore, or was that another dream.
