Hello everyone.
Last year I bought a Faireline 36 Turbo fitted with two Volvo TAMD61A.
Before delivery the previous owner changed one of the two stop solenoid which was defective (Part number 872826).
The new one worked a dozen times and broke down. The part, at Volvo, costs more than 700 euros. I bought 3 pieces of Chinese origin (unit cost between 70 and 90 euros).
The parts received have 3 wires (Red, White, Black) while the boat engine has only 2 wires to connect it.
I connected the white wire with the red wire and did some tests at home. It worked.
I installed it on board, it worked 4 times and broke down.
I wonder if these parts are really compatible with the Volvo part or if the boat has an electrical problem.
Today I dare not install a new item.
For a year I have installed a system of pulleys and cord to cut the engine.
Has anyone had an identical problem?
Thank you

You need to test the stop circuit . I doubt it’s the solenoid unless the pull coil is doing all the work because it’s not going into hold coil mode .
This would be because the lever throw adjustment is incorrect.
Over the years I’ve seen too many d I y fits of these which burnt out the pull coil .

Thank you volvopaul.
I don't think the problem is with adjusting the lever throw. Indeed in the old solenoid the stopping of the supply of the traction coil was an electromechanical system which cut the current at the end of the lever travel. In these new solenoids, the traction coil power supply time is set by a timmer (1 to 2 seconds). This timmer is electronic. I disassembled the solenoid and I tested it at home, it no longer works. Do you know if the official Volvo parts have also with 3 wires and how they connect them to the 2 wires of the motor ?
