Volvo Tamd 74p engine

Hi - I am thinking of buying another boat with twin Tamd 74p edc fitted
My question is - is there anything I need to be aware of ? (ie like kad300 the tappets need checking/adjusting every 200hrs)
Are they reliable etc etc

Great engines - we had them on our S48 - had to change a couple of fuel control sensors, but very reliable. You should get a test run with Volvo engineer on board nevertheless.

Used to sell these in Flybridge boats. Customers complained of dirty transoms from exhaust emissions quite bad on some boats.
Volvo unable to provide a cure but bought out the 75 variant(still 480hp) which did not have the same problem.

My last pm got returned, but my answer to your question is below:



As far as I know yes, the name is correct but I no longer have any paperwork with HIN info to confirm so, I can't say 100%. The new steering wheel is the same as I bought otherwise I have nothing else to go on.
