Just thought I'd let other Volvo Penta 2040 users know that I used dieselpartsdirect.co.uk to source oil and fuel filters for my engine.
The 2000's series of Volvo engines are a Perkins 100 series engine built under license. My 2040 has the 4 circle Perkins symbol on the block which puzzled me until i looked into it..
The filters are all genuine Perkins and at about £4-5 each compared to Volvo Penta at £25-30 which is a huge saving. They are also white so look no different than the Volvo ones which look pretty identical, probably made in the same factory.

Oil filter
Perkins 140517050 £4.03
Fuel filter (secondary on engine)
Perkins 4429491 £6.01
Fuel filter (primary CAV type glass filter bowl/water trap)
Perkins 26561117 £4.55
Would highly recommend this company, customer service was brilliant, postage only £5 for Tracked 24hr. (9 filters)
Hopefully this info of some use to other 2000's engine owners and maybe save a little cash in the current times over the so called 'genuine' items.
