I engaged VPaul in what was the seemingly impossible - fixing a s/b engine low rev problem - lots of well known VP engineers claimed to have tried / know the fault and I spent a small fortune fixing their (what turned out to be) hocus pocus - 'bolt on another thousand'...solutions - - I reached out to Paul whom many of us know of / wait for advice from and by the power of alchemy and magic smoke he chose to take on my job....dropped in on the way South - 90 minutes later and a lot of tinkering / Vodia (all other engineers used Vodia) he found an obvious fault that literally was right there on the screen - removal of injection pump, again meticulous attention to detail and an incredible clean / renew by MB Fuels (again superb service) he returned from the ether of the North and put her back together again - solved -fixed - 2 engines that sound like they have just rolled off the production line - didnt miss a beat - with sync off matching identically as the nose rose out of the water and the revs shot through 3200 with the speed flying upto 18 kts in only 150 yards before I had to come off the throttle, rescue 3 fishermen from the banks, 1 paddle boarder from certain drowning and 4 rowers from white water rafting....this genuine excitement may surprise you coastal hoodlums...but like many on here I wanted my boat to be perfect regardless of 4kt limit and it was bugging me - so a massive shout out to Volvo Paul and MB Fuels - he in particular is worth the wait but good luck ..as he disappeared off into the mist I fear I may have to summon up some satanic prayers to ever get him to return to the mysterious waters of the Thames...and also whilst I am at it - Tom of Aquapower - another complete legend and worth the wait ...I will not go anywhere else other than these 2 ever again - so a tale of joy and not woe...many have been aboard but none so good as VPaul and Tom

Just be careful of accepting a lift from VP, you could find yourself going sideways on a forest gravel track in a Mk II Escort.

edit: corrected :)

Another thumbs up for VP, helped me recently with a mechanical survey on a couple of D4s, identified a couple of things that the seller is now replacing as part of the sale deal. (Two non engine related that Paul found while conducting some other checks).

The two unrelated engine checks were missed by the surveyor I will add but not his name .

VP, I believe you have been busy with Irish boat buyers getting in their boat purchases before Brexit kicks in. I’ve passed your name onto a few.

You have Thankyou , sadly one buyer was a victim of a time wasting seller and the other I couldn’t possibly carry out his request in such a short time before the boat was due to leave the uk .
Either way Thankyou for the leads .

One client once described me as a very young Adrian Newey , I just prayed that he meant his Engineering Genius and not his looks.
