Can anyone offer a guide to the rough fuel consumption of an early Vovo MD2 engine? Of course it will vary according to throttle setting and prop, but it must be possible to provide a ballpark figure in gallons (I can work out litres too!) per hour. If you've had or have an MD2, please let me know the consumption you expected.
Regards, Mudhook.

We worked on 0.5 gallon/hour for a 32' 6 ton sloop with a 2 bladed prop.

I have a MD7A which is, I think, the direct successor to the MD2 and on a 4 tons displ 29 footer (23.16ft LWL) with a 15x9" two bladed prop, the consumption is about 1.3 litres/ hour at 2100 rpm, going down to 1 litre at 1800 rpm (max rpm is 2600).

37ft. 10 ton displacement, 15 x 9 three blade prop. All I can say is that in 19 years I have almost never thought about the fuel consumption! Might be half a gallon an hour. I just keep the tank full.

Yes we reckon on 1/2 imperial gallon per hour for a MD11C in a Westerly Berwick

Thanks to all for this info. There seems to be a consensus emerging, and it's good enough for me to work out roughly how much engine time I'll get out of a 25-litre tank.
