Volvo D2 55 alarm that starts 10 seconds after engine stopped.

Hello.

Not sure if I'm just getting an alarm that is there to remind me to turn off the control panel or if it something more sinister.

I run the engine without issue or alarms. Then I press stop engine. Engine stops. The after 10 seconds a constant alarm starts until I turn off the panel.

Then engine will start fine without alarms and run and pattern repeats.

Is this alarm just to tell me to turn off the panel?

Is it just an alarm to tell you that it’s not charging or low oil pressure - both because the engine isn’t running.

If it is an early engine with the older type of panel ITYWF the audible alarm does not sound if the engine is not running but if it is a later engine with the modern type of panel it is an intentional alarm to remind you to turn off the panel.
