Have got a troublesome oil leak from my new D1-20.
After much searching it appears to be coming up around the dip stick and then running down the outside of the dip stick tube. Has any one else come across this problem?

Sounds like back pressure . Are the breathers blocked ? If new could still be covered to stop dirt . If it is not a great deal of oil , Is the O ring intact on the dipstick ?

The seals on the dipstick are three fins moulded with the plastic top and the oil is getting past all of them so it could be back pressure as suggested. I'll check the breathers (wherever they are) next time I go to the boat. The amount of oil leaking isn't great but is annoying and messy.
Luckily the engine is still under warranty but as the dealer has already tried and failed to find the leak I would like to be able to point them in the right direction!

Very common. Your dipstick should have a seal on top. You may not be pushing it right home or the seal may be damaged.
