I am trying to repair my vire 7 petrol inboard. There seems to be lots of talk of people replacing vire's with new engines and I was wondering where all the dead ones end up. I am specifically trying to get a new crank as the woodruff key slot has collapsed on mine. Any help would be appreciated.

This engine is for sale with availability after Xmas. At present can be seen fitted in boat ashore Falmouth. A bit under powered for present boat in headwind/chop. No other reason for replacement - runs smoothly, economical.

Would like to ask £300 (as advised by engineer) but as limit on this site £200, will accept that but no offers.

Price includes gearbox, fuel tank, manual, parts list.

Buyer collects.

Sailorman, Thanks for the lead but it has been sold.

I answered a wanted ad in the West Briton, our local rag.

He came round with a friend at 12:30. We had agreed a price which he paid by 12:40. He and his friend, using the tools I had aboard, had removed it, slid it down the ladder and were away by 14:00!

He wanted it for spares - his boat is kept in France and he will take it over in his old Land Rover.

Yes, Sailorman, I have ordered a 13.5hp Beta Marine Diesel (based on Kubota) to fill the hole under the cockpit. Got the Boat Show discount in advance and hope that it will be fitted by end of Jan.
Look forward to getting the cooker manual,

Happy New Year

Bob
