Vinyl wallpaper for headlining

I am using armaflex, 13mm under the boards and 4mm for the walls
i tried to find the U value on it but cant find it. Myself i wouldnt waste the money on it for what you get from the reading of it i have done.. nice and thin though so using that on panels will be easy and then line with 4 way stretch carpet.

I'm not sure about on-line stocks but there were so many choices including what used to be called 'oil cloth ' that was used as a covering for tables in place of a tablecloth at outside cafes etc.
The Range warehouse I use is at Gosport.
I don't have a phone number .
As I was looking only for a white or cream colour for the headlining types some others were a bit thicker than I would use in other patterns.
For reasons mentioned previously I avoided the foam-backed type elsewhere .
I used a carpet spray adhesive at home ,and outside, to avoid fumes, but I was glueing to thin ply panels already shaped less 1/16th" at the edges to allow for the material wrapover - which I got wrong not having allowed for the flat bend of the panel. I had allowed about an inch material over each edgeso was able to correct lifting the edge and adjusting panel size to fit.

The proper Nautolex ‘marine’ stuff is only £13.99 per m (137cm wide): Nautolex Maritime vinyl - 24 Colours - The Hessian Company
Why not order the sort of material used by manufacturers/boatyards? It isn’t expensive @ £14 for 4’6”. It isn’t foam backed. Plenty of examples of nice DIY (and professional/factory) interior linings done with it on YouTube. Lots of colours to choose from. Contours to compound curves similar to ‘van vinyl’.

No association, just a genuinely question as to why you’d consider wallpaper, ‘oil cloth’, floor vinyl, or anything else, instead?

The genuine Armaflex is good stuff, but not cheap at pushing £20 per m…

In the spirit of economy implied by the OP, might be worth considering eBay/Amazon suppliers of foam vehicle insulation. Should be fire certified. 10mm seems to be thickest @ £5-6 per m depending on self-adhesive or not. E.g.: Self Adhesive Thermal Acoustic Foam Insulation for caravan, camper, vans, sheds, | eBay

Not yet fitted it myself, but it’s what I plan to try behind panels covered with the above (yes, ‘marine’!) vinyl where I want to retain the ‘vinyl look’.

Know multiple people who have used this foam insulation in campervan conversions - that are exposed to similar heat/moisture at times - and have no complaints. It is closed-cell. Not sure I’d trust the adhesive unless behind panels etc. though.

Not bad at combined total of £20 per m (or less)
