Vintage (old rubbish) Cetrek kit

I love a google mystery - it's a plotter/ autopilot. Charts on cartridges, like Atari games. The company changed name in 2001 when bought out by Teleflex Marine, seems to have stopped making such kit in 2003. The name Cetrek Ltd was (re?)registered in 2006, but appears to be dormant.

Here's one for sale, so you can see which components to strip out below decks Cetrek autopilot

I know nothing about this, but was curious enough to Google.

Of all the photos of Cetrek kit on the internet, this (found on a listing of a motor cruiser for sale in Denmark) is the only one that matches, so I conclude this unit is a Cetrek 757.

whatever it is, it seems to have dedicated followers believe it or not.
I'd suggest you take them off and put them on the for sale section.
I did so with all the cetrek bits I found on my boat. All went to good homes and helped ppl keep their systems running.
There's even someone somewhere in EU (got to search if I've kept his details on my boat restoration folders) who services/updates firmware/etc them.

cheers

V.

I used one on a boat sometime in the 1990s. Not impressed - at the time based on this example I thought electronic navigation plotters were complete rubbish, and relied on charts, sextant and an early handheld Garmin 45 GPS Garmin GPS 45.pdf (retro-gps.info) which turned out to be not very waterproof so was glad I still had my sextant and tables.

I do like modern plotters though.....

I use the 737 display head on my Cetrek autopilot. I have the 757 and display as shown at the start of this thread on my test setup at home. It was working the last time I fired it up...
