I see some discussions on these in the Past. My unit is only working in one direction. I think that its the Black Box this time as when I jumper the connections going into the Black Box I get thrust on one side but not the other.
Im thinking of just using a toggle switch at the helm to switch 12 V directly to the Albright , reversing relay contacts. (Get rid f the Lewmar ontroller and Black Box) When i look at the Spec Sheet for the relay it seems to indicate that the the Coil Spec is 10 to 15 Watts for Continuously Rated types and 40 to 50 Watts for Highly Intermittent rated types. In other words I could be drawing up to 4.2 A to drive the coil ( worst case) I'd need a switch rated for that.
Does what I'm proposing make sense? Has anyone made a similar modification?
