I was a yottie for more years than I care to remember, then bought our first mobo 4 years ago. We bought her based on accomodation and a seatrial in a F3. She's been great, BUT the ride can be uncomfortable in a F5 with larger waves. We are going to trade accomodation for a better ride in poor conditions when we make the change. I guess the lesson I've learn't is to try very hard to get a test ride/drive in poor conditions rather than on a "slight" sea, and see how comfortable you and any regular crew feel.

If you like the F37 but also the Windy 37 then have a look at the spacious Sealine S37 or the later S38 which has a lovely full width guest cabin (at the expense of a huge useful lazerette)
The Windy is a super boat but comes with a high price tag against the Sealine.

If you can, try a few boats to see what presses your buttons. Do you want a caravan - lots of great places to visit from Jersey - or do you want a Lotus Elise equivalent for blasting up to the Ecrehous or across to Carteret for overnights in any weather, carving large white elipses into the wind swept foam?

F37 is a good boat - had mine for 7 seasons. The KAMD300s seem to have given pretty solid service so far. Engine access is not brilliant although the engineers seem to manage ok. Lots of plus points well described above by others.

But there's lots of other good boats which will tick other boxes more convincingly as well. Choosing is half the fun so enjoy it!

Just one point worth remembering.. the happiest day of your life is when you buy your first boat.... the 2nd happiest day is when you sell it!

It's unlikely that you'll get it absolutely right the first time... so worth considering one that will sell relatively easilly.

Hello and welcome.

If based out of Jersey I think Sea handling should be high on your Agenda. Look at the Jeanneau Prestige 36 Fly bridge....I was trying one out here off Gibraltar (similar large seas) and was very impressed. Also consider the Beneteau Antares Range as they feel like boats that will take you anywhere. One other Boat which is not as sexy is the Nimbus 380 Commander!

I recomend you do some courses first on different types of Boats. Clive (Suncoast) has a few Sealines and he may let you play in the rough stuff! Also ASA in Gib has a Prestige 36 FB.
