Looks quite likely to me. The question is then if the leaders get halted further on and that group gets to catch up.

As of the 10.00 sched, Pip holding her own, in the 2015 generation fleet. In touch with Ben Dutreux and Romain, ahead. Keeping Damien Seguin at bay, astern. (All sailing 2015 launch Verdiers). With Giancarlo Pedote 900nm behind, on a 2015 VPLP/Verdier.
Sam G outperforming the age of his boat, with all 6 boats ahead, of his 2019 Verdier, 2021 / 2022 launches. And a good number of newer boats, sailed by respected skippers, behind him. Including Sam D's 2022 Manuard.

They are positioning for the next system. South too early and they get trapped on the ice limit . The back of the group may go south soon but the front may stay north depending on what is really happening with the low compared to the forecasts which are a bit confused over the next few days.Looks like the leaders didn"t like the Roaring Forties. Further back, Pip’s call, to gybe south (before the rest of the 2015 gen boats), looks to be paying off. Like when she broke west before the doldrums….

Is there a list anywhere of which boat used to be which? eg Violette's boat was Jean le Cam's last time. Dunno who's it was before that.

Yes and the forecasts differ on the latitude of the next low when it catches them. EC has it 200nm further north than GFS and that would make or brake a more southerly route.

Windy now has a Vendee plug in so you can overlay the boats on your favourite forecast. Go to menu and then instal plugin.

After 7000nm of racing, 2nm between Charlie Dalin & Yoann Richomme, 1nm between Pip & Louis Burton. And some Russian Roulette (courtesy of uncertainty over weather system tracks in the south) coming up. With Sam G still in touch with the leaders.......Don't blink!

Thomas Ruyant opting to route north / 'top of centre', for the low. For boat preservation reasons. Sounded, on Dee's 'Live,' earlier, as if that was Sam G's thinking too, aboard the other Vulnerable.....
