Well, deep breath and start to rewire the battery management and alternator system on the Jeanneau.
Trouble is that the standard production system leaves me with a tortuous wire routing so I need to make a few new battery weight cables to make it all fit and of course there isnt enough room in the back of the Voltage Sensitive Relays to make all the connections.
I have struggled all day bending and shaping the battery cables to make them fit, and realigning the relays, fuses and other paraphenalia on the engine bulkhead.
I came away just before dark, and it looked worse than when I started.
I was also working from 3 different wiring schematics from the various manufacturers of the new bits, so my fag packet thinking did slow me down, a lot.
The only good bit was that I did not cock up the jigsaw cutouts for the VSR and Large circuit breaker. Almost looks like someone else did it.
The boat is a complete mess and I only have a couple of weekends to get it right before launching. No chance whatsoever of being on time this year.
Should really have been applying the oxalic to the waterline and polishing the hull as it was such a nice day.
Good news is that SWMBO washed out the whole bilges on the little Seal 22, and managed to get nearly all of the lockers/bilges painted in Danboline. Top effort on her part, far outstripping my tenuous efforts.
However, a day on the boat is never a day wasted, and the new ancient Johnson 4hp (ebay chance acquisition)works a treat.
Hers to some more nice weather next weekend, and I may even find the time to stop for Sunday lunch in the Club. You never know!
