Does anyone know where I can buy these in the UK.

Not sure of where to get one in the UK, but West Marine in the USA has a selection.

You can get West Marine products in the UK, by phoning United Kingdom 0800-895-473. The only downside is that you "may" get caught for import duty and VAT. Sometimes they get through as is.

After reasonable use with tea and coffee these mugs get orribly stained, and cos of the shape even a dishwasher doesn't get them clean.

Buy a normal pint mug and only fill it half full.

Flash Spray with Bleach.
Certainly soon removes tea stains. We don't drink that much coffee to get mugs stained by it

I agree, but a "Steradent" tablet will clean them, leave it overnight.

One thing extra, drinking out of a mug like that can sometimes be like drinking out of a Yard of Ale!

Our "Alladin" insulated mugs work for us. Not such a radical shape but bigger at the base and smaller at the mouth. Good for food like curry, stew and pasta too.

Use an old CD and stick it to the bottom of your mug with some hot melt glue - simples - one could add some non-slip feet to stop the whole lot sliding off the table..
