Has anyone bought a 70's/80's 20' cruiser as a project in the past few days or indeed an 8' aluminium dinghy. These items have seemingly been stolen from Lion Boat House on Eel Pie Island in Twickenham.
At midnight last saturday, I saw the dinghy being rowed down the river by 2 young lads. I shouted across asking what they were doing and they said they were going to their boat. "Who's your uncle?" I shouted, as this would confirm the owners identity and he answered correctly. Since that night nothing had been seen of the cruiser or the dinghy and it was thought that he'd gone on holiday. A bit cheeky taking one of the yards dinghies, but nothing too serious. The plot thickens when Sandy, owner of said boathouse, phones the cruiser's owner and is told that he hasn't been out on the boat. Maybe it's been stolen. Funny that my description of one guy in the dinghy matches Sandy's description of the owner. I also can't even see it as an insurance scam coz the boat was a wreck.
