Seen at Nauticalia Marina (Ex MMS) Shepperton yesterday - R clips - three and a half inches of stainless wire shaped like an 'R' to retain clevis pins - £4.50 EACH

Well it is all demand and supply. Obviously they do get away with those prices.
I'll always make a list what I need and pick it up in town at normal prices. Chandlers are sharks and prey on the sailor under time pressure who needs the odd part.
Stocking up ahead of failure, on essential spares saves the trip to the chandler :))

Its obvious innit? If you have a boat you MUST be loaded, so you must be able to afford chandlery prices. Sailing is what posh people do right?

Well, whenever I mentions boats people always say "Blimey, you must be rich"

Couldn't agree more, needed quite extensive canopy repair - cost was bloody extortionate, contacted a local chap who repairs car hoods, did a great job for half the price!
