In PBO a few issues back I read about the Twist-It plug invented by Charles Jolley. This would solve a very annoying problem on my 31`Monsun - I am now at the point where I close the valve in the through hull fitting when I do the dishes in any sea at all... However I can not get in contact with the producer - when I try to phone the no quoted (01275845380) I can not get through. I have tried going throuh the operator service here in Norway, but no-go. No chandlers in the vicinity know of the product. Anybody out there with any knowledge?

i think he may have given up on the project. i bought a couple from him at a boat jumble 3 or 4 years ago, i don't think he was selling enough to cover his costs and he wasn't young!

unfortunately, while the screw-in plug works well, the thread which holds the fitting into the sink wasn't adequate for the job and keeps slipping so the water leaks away around the fitting.

I, too, had problems losing the dishwater and being unable to find a replacement plug. Found the complete sink trap and plug assembly in a chandlers in Canvey Island on a trip down there and bought the lot for a couple of quid. I've now got a spare trap (but I'm keeping the plug). If you want to try this solution PM me and I'll give you details for the chandler.

Regards

Chas

A good easily obtained alternative to the Twist it are the locking bungs you can buy at practically any Supermarket to put in a wine bottle etc when you need to keep the contents fresh. Works better than the Twist it as there are no mods. to make.

Thank you for the replies. It seems the twist - it is not easy to get hold of and does have its flaws. Maybe I´ll try for the wine bottle method... Than you again..

another solution is to use a plastic sink bowl - trouble is it's murder getting a plastic bowl that fits in a boat sink!
