Hi all,
I'm trying to replace my dual steering wheel Volvo Penta cable steering system with a MaviMare hydraulic steering system.
My boat is an '80s boat and has a Volvo Penta TAMD30 turbo diesel 4 cylinder engine.
I thought the leg was a Volvo Penta 280 (because it looked like a 280 from looking online and I bought a replacement anode for a 280 and it went on fine).
But the steering system seems a bit different - I think the 280 should have a steering tube with an outside thread on it (which is what the MaviMare MC300BE cylinder needs to attach to) whereas I have a tube that goes to the dual steering box but the tube has an inside thread and the steering box threads on to it - so I don't think this is the normal 280 arrangement.
I'm hoping maybe I can get a 280 tube and mounting and replace what I have but I was wondering if anyone knows what model of leg I have ?
