Re: Is it worth bothering?

When I see a posting in a foreign language like H00's my eye turns to heaven and I swiftly move on to another post.. D' ye no ken that the language on this forum is English! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

A while back my SWMO started a new ID which was never used to post as she was reading the forum when I was at work. I am sure she would have enjoyed the forum as she is still sailing with L plates.

It was spotted within a few days and closed down, so she just stopped.

Other people have partners on, so how do they manage it?

FWIW, the ID was Barbara Hauler (not sure exactly of spelling).

Kims new role ...

Yes I did know ........

Just trying to figure out why my Forum listing had it at top of the posts and "current" .... I have to admit that I rarely look at the date of posting ... But as I say - it was in first slot in the forum listing ...... strange !!!!

Do you mean ip as in internet provider or IP as in Internet Presence Address?
If you log off the internet and back on again you are assigned a different IP Address (not sure about cable connections). If you just sign off and change User without closing down your internet connection it will show as a different user from the same IP address.
I'm a bit rusty on it now, but that's how we used to follow members around our shopping mall web site.

I meant ip address. We use a fixed ip address (run web servers behind it) and never log off anyway Its a wireless connection and provides the gate way for the rest of the village so logging off would be considered a bit antisocial /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

The address presented would be the same for SWMO and me (and anyone else from the village who tried to log on to the site.

I think its more to do with prejudices agains dogs and their families /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Cheers

Nigel,

I wonder if it reappeared because BobE was surfing, came across it and posted his query? That would bring it to the top again.

I sit corrected. Stupidly did not look further than the second posting. I have rapped myself over my knuckles. Didn't realised that I was a sado-masochist!

Re: Kims new role ...

This very old post has come to the top of the list, as it will now, because someone has posted on it. My setup for the forums, assuming yours is the same, displays the posts in order from newest to oldest. Can display in order of the date of the initial post - but that isn't particularly user friendly.

Hope that answers your question... well it will if this has come to the top of your screen. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
