Hi everyone
I have just bought a Triana, (Miss Bovril 1). The engines are beyond their useful life,so I have invested in a volvo penta KAD300. It looks like a very capable boat and I cant wait to get it into the water. Can anyone supply me with information on these boats, or even this boat in particular as I understand it took place in the round Britain race in 1969

I remember Miss Bovril in her hey-day and she was fitted with twin Volvo 170/270 Aquamatics. I can't recall who owned her but she was a Renato Levi design and did around 40 knots. A real thoroughbred she probably cost £10-£11,000 new which was a fortune at the time for a 26' boat. She certainly did take part in the 1969 round Britain also other races like the Cowes-Torquay-Cowes. Ray Bulman at MBY will have more details and he will be fascinated to know she's still 'alive' look after her you have a bit of rare boating history there.

Byron, didn' that program about the harbour master, with Nick Berry, feature a triana or was that another levi design, I read it somewhere? There was an old triana in Dartmouth, that a liveaboard and his girlfriend were on, great tall chap he was!

Colin, I was aware of the program but never watched it. I get the hump with programs where some guy is the old bill, coastguard, social worker, local hero and uncle Tom Cobbley and all and solves everything in an hour. I like proper realistic programs like Starsky & Hutch where it takes two people to do the job.

I only watched it for a few minutes, wasn't feeling well and needed something to push me over the top and head for the heads!
