Most Annual Travel Insurances don’t cover travel overseas on private boats rather than using planes o ferries and public accommodation.
I have used Bishop Skinner travel insurance for many years and it has been good and reasonable cover for any travel and most activities.
Having reached 65 it has nearly doubled in price.
Does any one have any alternative suppliers they can recommend which include cruising overseas on your own boat for medical and other risks?

Are you sure its because you reached 65? I've seen significant increases at younger age and assumed it was a covid effect? I have to say when you consider the liability they are potentially exposed to and the routine cost of healthcare to the general public in many parts of the world even the most expensive quotes don't seem ridiculous to me. Which risks are you trying to cover? e.g. health and repatriation? cost of returning the boat if you are too sick to sail it? increased cost of a trip because of some problem? cost of cancellation, travel or unexpected marina fees if you had to fly home for a dying relative? are you talking a few weeks at a time on holiday, or prolonged retirement cruising, Europe or all the way to the Pacific? You might be better looking at the sort of people who cover backpacker types who are usually at the opposite end of the age scale from you...

We used Insure and Go long stay cover, until age made premiums silly. Included coastal sailing and scuba to 30m as standard and offshore cover could be added for specific time periods. Only grey area, they covered medical evacuation but not search and rescue. We now rely on EHIC to cover medical issues and self cover other risks.

I had travel insurance through bishop skinner that was aimed at private boat travel plus off shore. Also covered other means of travel. It wasn't cheap but possibly mid price range.

Thanks for the answers above i will follow these up.
I have had Bishop Skinner annual worldwide travel Insurance for a number of years, I just want to book my travel and know that I have annual cover in place for business and pleasure for Wife and myself.

As I live in Guernsey I am not covered under EHIC agreement.

I am looking for annual travel insurance to cover the usual things while abroad whether I am travelling on my boat or by other means to cover myself and wife including accident and emergency medical cover while travelling away from home.

Also until the health agreement between UK and Guernsey is reinstated to cover travel in UK.
