Curleysue: I'm in Finike now, but leaving tomorrow. There's a sign near the marina giving taxi fares to Antalya. Can't remember the price, but happy to check it out if you wish. Kas is 75km from here by road, so significantly dearer.

you need very deep pockets to use the taxis, the cheapest we have seen that's not a public bus is from the travel agent next to the "white clothes shop" in Kas. 40 lira last year Kas to dalaman, Kas to Antalya should be about the same. Otherwise use the coach services on offer at the Kas bus station they will take you to the airport even if it means a change of coach - you don't have to worry about anything. As a guide Kas to Fethiye (125KM) is 10 lira and Fethiye to Dalaman airport departures is 10 lira.

yellow cabs are typically 150 Euros

40 TL is incredibly cheap Marsupial and even £40.00 seems low for a yellow taxi for that distance . The long distance bus service is excellent and frequent and cheap and the price includes not only connections to the airport but often, if there is not a bus station where you are, a feeder dolmus to pick you up from the marina and take you to the main road in time to meet the express bus going through.Just go to the local booking office and talk to them. Kâmil Koç and Pammukale are the main companies with the former having an on line booking service in English if you are not near a booking office. Alternatively in tourist areas there are a number of companies who do airport transfers at a much cheaper price than the taxis and a quick google will find them.

We use coaches often for travel in Turkey, its cheap and efficient - even complicated journeys are no big deal for them.

Yes 40 lira, we thought it was a good deal to - its a mini bus Merc sprinter type thing so you will be sharing. The express companies are even less. We just did a Kas to Istanbul by coach (why? - don't ask! but it has to do with Ataturk NOT being the airport we needed to get to, all other methods were either too expensive or wrong times etc) but it was comfortable and on time - and only 70 lira - included a boat trip, and they feed you!

Yes thought it was ; wouldn't want visitors thinking taxis are cheap.:) The long distance coaches are one of Turkey's secrets being modern comfortable fast and running to time all over Turkey with connections that work .And they also carry cargo, my last car exhaust was brought on three buses from Denezli in less than three hours from ordering and our neighbours who had left their house key at their brothers had it delivered to the door overnight from Istanbul. Its certainly an excellent way for liveaboards to explore the interior .
