Mountain warehouse isocool tee-shirts are a bit pricey but great onboard for passages, dry really fast and can last longer before getting too smelly.

I'm sitting in departures at gatwick heading to Lanzarote to do exactly the same thing not by large cat though, my packing priorities were sme fishing tackle and snorkel mask and fins for the Caribbean other than that I plumped for a couple of fleeces a pair of tracky bottoms swimming trunks and shorts n t shirts, oh and sun hat no boots as I prefer to sail barefoot unless it's winter in the channel. At check in my bag was 13.5 kg thats heavy enough to be lugging around the underworld when passing through landaan

Actually, the weather here is bonkers now. Big winds from the SE have been blowing near 30 knots for nearly ten days. Feels cool in the evenings, Sahara sand everywhere, lots of wheezy people.

Goes by the name of Calima. Visibility poor. Turning lighter south next week.

Will hopefully be making a pit stop in Marina Arecife next thursday?

Had that in Dakar, sand everywhere, even on the sides of halyards. Scratchy sandy boat for months.

Oh bother, forecast isn't that great either, it's the skippers call. May have to find a china shop for some disposable waterproofs to wear whilst washing the Sahara off the boat
