How’s the weather with you?

I forgot to add: Immigration office was open and dealt with us very politely and promptly. Customs had closed a few minutes earlier so they phoned the customs officer at home. Handed the phone to me to chat to him. He said he’d was sorry he’d missed us but he’d see us in the morning and to save us walking to his office, “What time would you like me to send a car to pick you up from the harbour?”
Is the cash machine working? That was the only hiccup we had during our check in.

Any Haitians in the harbour at the moment?

It’s been a lovely day at Craobh Marina, cool, around 12 Celsius, mostly a milky sky, calm, but last night it was wet and windy for a while. Caught up with some jobs, tomorrow it is to be sunny all day, with no clouds and around 13 Celsius, light winds. I might doze in the cockpit, rather than do anything of importance.
Yes JM chose the wrong day to brag about his weather - just when the UK suddenly gets high pressure with calm winds, clear skies and the hottest temperatures for months.
Perfect for our annual lift out tomorrow - and from AIS looks like lots of boats already out and about on the Clyde enjoying the early spring sunshine.

Weather came back to bite us. Today it’s been 28+ knots of wind for a while and torrential rain. To the point we actually hove to for a couple of hours. We had intended to anchor overnight at Hogsty Reef but the sea state isn’t perfect and there’s northerly winds forecast for later tomorrow. At least the rain was warm although I’m sitting in the cockpit in my foul weather jacket atm. Not the sailing in the Bahamas we were looking forward to for today.

Hah! Serves you right for boasting about your fun-in-the-sun sailing on a forum for sailors who sail 40-year-old Centaurs under the austere grey skies of the east coast.

There was a small craft warning for the Bahamas recently. We didn't get the right weather for Hogsty either last year! Are you headed to the Raggeds?

It all calmed down and we’re now anchored off Castle Island. It’s at the S end of Acklins.

Interesting entrance in pitch dark. Radar GPS into Navionics & echo sounder all being cross referenced. The light shown in the charts isn’t working. We got in at 0200 local.

Looks like we’re here for the day at least ax there are Northerlies forecast and we’re heading for Nassau to meet friends flying out on 30th.
