Probably a futile post but please note the following twin-axle trailer which was stolen in Westfield Road, Lymington on Sunday 29 April despite being secured with a sturdy wheel clamp.

Indespension Roller Coaster 9
Serial No. SDHRC1506 G 062494
It's in very good condition, less than a year old.

I am new to the boating world and pretty gutted about this, not to mention the £250 excess and £23/night berthing fees I'm paying while I wait for a replacement. Police have said no chance of catching the scumbag and even suggested I conduct my own door-to-door enquiries where it was stolen. Ha ha!

Any tips on trailer security welcomed.

Make sure your insurance company add it to the Stolen Boats website as soon as possible.

There is a section for stolen trailers. Details of latest thefts are autromatically circulated to anyone who signed up for the alerts, including Marine Police.

when i had a trailer outside in the street it had a wheel clamp, a lock ball in the tow hitch and was chained to the lamp post. i would consider that to be the minimum security requirements.
