Yes I see no need for any abduction -the grief suffered by many for theft of their pet is no different to the theft of a young child - what punishment is there to prevent abduction of young children ?
You bet! Would you shoot someone for stealing your kids?
Definitely not! My dog is just as important as my son!I think you have a classification error there.
Definitely not! My dog is just as important as my son!
Shes part of the family...shes domesticated not a wild animal therefore as a responsible and loving dog owner i shall protect my dog like i would protect my kids.
There is a BIG difference between domesticated animals and live stock.
They are just as much part of my family as my wife, Son and my mum.
If your a farmer...maybe look at it in a different light, If not...Then if you wouldn't protect your dog to the best of your ability then maybe a hamster would be a more appropriate pet for you.
Your poor dog...please dont get sick of it and tie it off to a lamp post...if you do give me a PM il take it and look after it! Dear meYour poor son.
I understand that it is perfectly legal for a farmer to shoot a dog that is worrying sheep. You would kill a dog for harassing a sheep?
That said, if I accidentally shot a dog thief I wouldn't lose much less sleep.
No, he's right. Dogs can do gruesome damage to sheep, for which you would be financially (and morally), responsible. Also, at least here in Ireland, a dog caught red-handed can lawfully be shot by the owner of the injured/dead sheep. The legislation is that dogs out of doors must be kept under control at all times, either by a leash or by effective training. I have no doubt that there similar laws in GB.Thank you for your enormously helpful contribution.
Tell me, where do you live and what sort of dog do you have?
