Tracker for dogs (waterproof for cruising)

Yes I see no need for any abduction -the grief suffered by many for theft of their pet is no different to the theft of a young child - what punishment is there to prevent abduction of young children ?

Another vote for Tractive - we have one on our greyhound. It’s not so much that he runs away or is ever off his lead, but if he does get out he can cover a lot of ground very quickly. The Tractive monitor claims to be waterproof; it looks as if it should be. Only down side is having to take it off every 4-5 days for a recharge.

I think you have a classification error there.
Definitely not! My dog is just as important as my son!

Shes part of the family...shes domesticated not a wild animal therefore as a responsible and loving dog owner i shall protect my dog like i would protect my kids.

There is a BIG difference between domesticated animals and live stock.

They are just as much part of my family as my wife, Son and my mum.

If your a farmer...maybe look at it in a different light, If not...Then if you wouldn't protect your dog to the best of your ability then maybe a hamster would be a more appropriate pet for you.

Your poor son.

Yes I agree -it’s just curious protecting the life of a sheep is worth more than that of a dog or of a child . I don’t disagree though that if on a farmers land a dog should be kept on a lead where sheep are grazing.

I'd protect my dog exactly as I would my kids, but to say that the loss of a dog equals that of a child is a bit of a stretch. That said, if I accidentally shot a dog thief I wouldn't lose much less sleep.

Edit, and if I were the farmer (farming is in my family) then your dog is less important than my innocent sheep I'm afraid.

Thank you for your enormously helpful contribution.

Tell me, where do you live and what sort of dog do you have?
No, he's right. Dogs can do gruesome damage to sheep, for which you would be financially (and morally), responsible. Also, at least here in Ireland, a dog caught red-handed can lawfully be shot by the owner of the injured/dead sheep. The legislation is that dogs out of doors must be kept under control at all times, either by a leash or by effective training. I have no doubt that there similar laws in GB.
