towing a boat with a Brompton

There you are then, bike, trailer, duck punt, gas camping stove and one of those lightweight tents.

All your problems sorted.

Keep you fit as well.

Entirely possible... in fact I was considering a 45 mile journey like that before I was offered delivery when I was getting ready to buy the Lark.

While possible, though, I've got a lot for first hand experience of the kind of abuse cyclists can come in for... I can only imagine the kind of treatment one would receive doing this on the roads. As with most things cyclists get abuse for while out riding it would be completely legal (provided the brakes were good enough for a prompt, controlled stop), but I highly doubt that would stop many people screaming, shouting, horn-beeping, close-passing or swerving-in.

The good drivers would probably smile and laugh... but in the end I think I'd be more inclined to walk it. Far less scope for abuse, I expect.

Sad really, it could be a lot of fun.

Was that a wayfarer?

I think my Dad used to tow a wood and canvas canoe behind a push bike.
Braking was an issue apparently, there were experiments with a brake on the trailer.
