Clubhouse to be demolished, which as I understand it is one of the oldest yacht clubs in Southend and a company wanting to build a lagoon, a matter of yards from their jetty.

It is one of the oldest in the world. Given the instability of the cliffs it is surprising that the building has lasted this long. A great shame.

Yeah definitely.... I hoped more could be done that doesn't involve wiping the club house from existence..

I understand the underpinning that was done many years ago, has failed, because it did not go down to the bedrock. It seems a shame it cant be re underpinned and saved, but guess its all to do with money . I expect the council may have other plans for the land, hopefully something tasteful, but I doubt it
