The writer forgot to mention that West Coast rocks MOVE !!
True story; Jason and the Argonauts was filmed on the west coast of Scotland. The entry to the Black Sea with the clashing rocks? That's the Corryvreckan with a special filter to make it look like Harryhausen's backyard. There are a few pubs still staffed by the extras who played the fighting skeletons.

At least 46m at one of the recommended anchoring spots ? and the middle of the loch is deep enough to give most southerners vertigo.
 
First Mate and I spent six weeks in the Clyde end of June to August some years ago. One day, mid July, it reached the dizzy hights of 7 degrees C!
Midges ARE troublesome it is true. But not at those tempretures I am glad to say.
