Beware the wash from the Calmac kept a friend at our yacht club awake all night.

Also the locals who will swim out to your boat and nick your fenders. They'll be on sale in Tobermory by morning.

My late father told me that the Almighty made Heaven and Earth and gave it to Adam and Eve, apart from the Western Isles, which He gave to David MacBrayne.

I take it this is still correct?

Yes, Rule XXX in IRPCS clearly states that everything gives way to a CalMac ferry. Even Trident subs are scared of them.
Calmac ferries are generally paragons of patience and politeness with WAFIs.

Clearly anybody complaining about Calmac has never been in a narrow rocky channel with a Baltic ferry coming the other way ….. or been to Greece etc.

Except for the jumped up motor boats on the Gourock/Dunoon run who, apart from kicking up a riduculous wash, try to bully all small vessels out of their way.
They have clearly noted your AIS boatname and singled you out for special treatment for some previous misdemeanour- as not noticed this myself
Is awol's boat a small vessel while dunedin has a big one?

Ref Post 54, the WightLink ferry skippers obviously train in the same school as CalMac.... particularly down Lymington way where the come on regardless. Ok vessel constrained by draft etc, but they wont give an inch. Red Funnel arent much better having sunk the odd cruiser because no one was looking the right way.

Which Calmac ferry runs all night?

Also that's a bit harsh on the locals wherever your yacht club is. Maybe should learn to tie your fenders on correctly ?

Even the winter timetable only gives a 5 hour respite from wash for the Gourock/Dunoon ferry and if you leave fenders dangling on your boat whilst on a mooring it is an offence against all that is holy and you deserve to lose them.

How do you feel about step fenders? My Mrs is particularly fond of hers, and I hope that an exception can be made.

MV Loch Seaforth runs 24/7 apart from loading etc, on the summer timetable.
Except when she's broken down, again, or the crew fail a covid test, again.
