Re: oh blimminek

unfortunatley maseratis are a pile of pooh. I will agree that the maserati of the fifties (5000?) would be cool. Or, an f1 fangio racer copy wold also be cool.
But, the bora, merak, weird bmw-lookalikes called shamal, or xk8 lookalikes are not cool. You are confusing shagtastic or "sex-on-wheels" with cool.

Are you trying to wind me up?

Re: cool cars

Axshully Jimie Dean drove and died in a Porsche Spider 550 which is another really cool Porka, but for some reason people always associate the 356 with him..

I also happens to think that the early 911s the one with the chrome bumpers are coll but not the slightly later ones with plastic bumpers, and the whale tails are definitely un cool.

I just can't be arsed...

Re: cool cars

I saw some new Porsche on sunday on the E40 in Belgium with a retro feel to it. My mate tried to tempt him to play but he wasn't for it, probably running-in.

Any idea which model as I can't find it on their website?

Re: cool, not trendy or fab

You are mistaken ref no Aston cool.

You can't tell me that an Asotn Martin DB5 in gunmetal grey is anything other than ice cool.

Re: cool cars

It is likely to be their new Boxster coupe, they are launching a new look for existing boxster and adding a coupe to the range, and they are moving away from the body and light sharing with the 911 (front half) becasue too many of their customers were replacing their 911s with Boxsters especially Boxster S so they are they are trying to make the 911 more exclusive by making it clearly different from all angles to a Boxster. They are also launching the Cayene which is their 4x4, looks like a 911 on steroids and weight training programme. I know there are plety of photos to be seen on the boxster forum of the new porkas at www.986board.com . Not a bad forum but mainly full of yanks so very little sense of humour and lots of virtual team hugs, puke!! I am a big fan of porsche cars but they are an acquired taste and often attract the wrong people as customers but spose the same would be true of other 'brand label' cars, I have a Boxster I drive at weekends and for fun other than that we are a mercedes familly with a couple for everyday use. Thinking of canning all this car crap in now though cos you can't drive em anywhere anymore cos of the cameras etc etc gonna by a Smart instead and put the change into boats, beer, racehorses and any thats left ill waste.

I just can't be arsed...

Re: cool, not trendy or fab

hm. But the car shouts speed as featured in films, yet can be blown into the weeds by a modern runabout. No problem about being slow, but an ice cool car wouldn't so arrogantly allude to being fast, yet not be so. Anyway, Prince Bigears has a db6, they're now in lots of wannabee crap 007 films, and fraid tese two factors rather put the tin lid on the entire marque. Also, calling the latest aston "vanquish" and then being a bit crapper than the ferraris was a mistake, imho.

Note: by definition, everyone has a veto on cool cars:so if just one or two people think it isn't cool, (cos some crap bloke in the next street had one, or a geography teacher had one etc etc) then it isn't cool. It further follows that cool cars are fairly rare.

Re: cool, not trendy or fab

Coz James bond had one right? Well nearly cept it was in fact a DB4 with a DB5 body bolted onto it coz the DB5's weren't quite ready for the film so not enough time to hack them up and add machine guns, revolving number plates etc...
