The guy who said the Aston sould be uncool (idiot!!!), you know the one with his goofy wife wearing matching tweed jackets? He drove a Honda (YAWN!!!) and she drove the MX5 so started having ago at Nat saying the new MGTF was not as cool as the Mazda. My reaction was we brits invented the sports car, the TF is a real drivers car, a bit like an elise but more practical. Liked it so much I bought myself one along with a ZS180. Great fun and I think looks more blokey now with it's more aggresive stance.

I actually went onto the website this morning to look at the Cayenne, interesting car but can't afford one. /forums/images/icons/frown.gif

There was a classic car meet at the hotel I was staying at that included, what i was told was, the predecessor to the 911 but wasn't a Porsche. Can't remember the name, also Daimler Dart, E-Type and assorted bits and bobs.

And what about the pillock who tried to say that the Ford KA is a cool car ??!??!!!

Ihave the unfortunate pleasure of having a KA as a loaner while mine gets fixed and I can assure you that there is nothing cool about a KA. I'll sum it up in one word ....."Nasty"

Oh and while we are on the ford KA - You know that the sporty KA is the KA2, do you know why? Well the sporty fords of the time the KA was developed were called SI as in Fiesta SI or Escort SI, but even ford couldn't bring themselves to call a car KASI even though IMHO it is.

That is cool and also reminds me of another cool car the Karman Ghia when in original form (not concours) and not mucked around with by MAX POwer enthusiasts, especially the rag top

Volvo 850 R is cool because its a mental 250bhp estate car. Landrover Defenders are coolish, Lightweights are V cool, Series 1's if you are a real anorak. All other Land Rovers aren't, espc. new Rangie which looks like Metrocab from rear. Beemer M5 from early 90's cool, 635 Coupe's also. All other beemers, espc. dodgy 3 series cabrios are uncool. Audi RS2& 4 cool, TT not.

Real point is that Top Gear not cool anymore I'm afraid. Dodgy blokeish talkshow in leaky aircraft hangar? No Count Quentula and more importantly Vicki B-H? Sorry, Top gear uncool therefore 5th gear cool. (despite being on C5).

Akershally, Ka is slightly cool for what at the time was "avantgarde" design compared to competition. Amazin that Uncle Henry would risk something so different. Also, Ka2 not sporty at all just more kit. Ka sports was going to have 1.7 engine from Puma in it. Prototypes built but limited supply of engines from Yamaha killed it. Would have been called Ka Si tho'!

Street Ka - Ka roadster out soon. Probably cool!

I agree that the early '90s Beemer M5 is cool.

Big laughs can be added by removing all M badging, replacing with a 518i badge (obtainable from your local Mr BMW) and watching the mystified faces of boy racers in GTi's at the traffic lights, in your rear view mirror.... Or so I am told.

Any other jolly Q-car japes?

i have a debadged e430 estate with kids making faces out of the back. Of course, this isn't cool at all, it's very very silly officer and i'll certainly sure it doesn't happen again.

Volvo T-5 ugh!

Completely agree AJW, Top Gear itself is uncool. And yes, Vicky BH is missed lots. Had fun being driven round Millbrook in a Vaux Astra by her a few years ago, and round Silverstone's practice rally track in a Peugeot last year. She is a totally ace driver, made me realise how cr@p I am. And she was totally cool about showing off....!

But not the Volvo T-5. It would be cool if the engine was connected to the back wheels. But volvo went for cheapo build and connected it to the front wheels, and therefore the car is utter sh!te imho. And the more bhp they pile in (the latest volvo estate T series will have 300bhp) the more they compound the problem. The other prob with T-5s is that twonk littlehitler traffic cops think they're fabulous and all talk about how fab they are in the pub after work and have orgasms when within 50 yards of one..... thus also rendering them very uncool.

A new shape E55AMG estate, debadged, will be cool when it comes out
