Has anyone on here had a tonneau cover made for a small (about 22 ft) Mobo over the past 18 months? I've just started looking for quotes and I'm a bit suprised at what I've been told so far. Admittedly it was only a sample of one, and over the phone at that, but I was quoted in the region of £900 when I was expecting it to be about half that. Maybe they didn't want the job, or maybe I'm just out of touch.

In any event, I'd be very interested to hear any ballpark figures for recent such jobs that any forumite may have had done. The boat is a Sea Ray 215, which is a fairly bog standard small powerboat with a cuddy cabin and the cover just needs to go over the cockpit and windscreen.

I'd also be interested in any suggestions for suppliers in the Solent area. I know about JB Yacht Services (it wasn't him who quoted £900, by the way) but I also seem to recall someone mentioning a one woman business in the area, and several forumites subsequently volunteered that she'd done a good job for them, at a reasonable price.

TIA

Nauticovers advertise on eBay - and I had a quote for an all-over cover for a 18ft small boat of £400 from them. This was to cover the bow and everything though not just the cockpit.

HOWEVER I have never used them, and you have to make them a template so I would be vaguely cautious. I asked them about bringing the boat to them to be measured up, and they said they couldn't do that - so I don't know how good they are.

I have also used Flexicovers in Poole in Dorset for a canopy - that was over 10 years ago though - they were dear but they did a great job, came to the boat, did everything and it was a cracking job.

not sure if this helps but I enquired about a new camper cover for the Rinker 250 with admittedly, a second SS frame at the back to square off that section.. £2,100 plus the VAT, looks a nice job but beyond my budget:

I had a custom cover made for my Karnic (20ft) by Quay Sails in Poole Very good quality and helpful. Price off the top of my head was about £700.

Have used Tecsew in the past and had great service. They visited the boat and took time to understand what we wanted, they then went away and produced it within the agreed timescales.

Possibly not the cheapest but we were over the moon with the result.

No connection, just happy customers.

+1

Tecsew worked with us to come up with a bespoke canopy for our cockpit. They came out, measured, created a template etc and made us a fab canopy perfect for our needs. This was 5 years ago. Last week I called them as we'd managed to pull a couple of the blue poppers off. The next day, one of their team was in the area and "popped" over, replaced the poppers and left us a few spares. No cost. Great customer service!
We got a really good deal, though we did order it in early January when there was very little business around, so were happy to give us a good price.
No connection, just extremely happy customers :o

SO31 Bags in Hamble made my new Tonneau last Winter. Great job even greater price - no one else even close, some jokers 3 times their price. £650 for 3m x 2.5m to suit my Turbo 36, including zip flap to allow access to the helm without full removal of the tonneau.
