Park it in a freshwater marina and it will all fall off in a few weeks. No need for pressure washers or scrapers.

it was quite traditional for a wherry that spent it's time in the fresh water areas of the broads to go down to near the sea every so often to keep their bottoms clean..
This year we had a very strong salt surge up into the broads, the salt surge was 100% at 14 miles up river, and still fairly salt 20 miles up river.. I bet quite a few boat owners had a surprisingly low fouling when they pulled out this year.

That reminds me of my first winter with Jissel. We bought her in May and she was launched, We then used her all summer and she spent the winter on her mooring. When I went to move her the next spring I barely had steerage way. "Yikes - better get her scrubbed off quick before some idiot declares that lot a site of special scientific interest!"

It doesn’t look much worse than my boat after this year’s hot summer. :(
Weirdly we have had virtually no fouling this year,-around the corner from you in suffolk, river orwell near the bridge -to be honest.

We didnt go in till june as were painting the deck but came out last week and really really clean. Bizzare as we are normally absolutely covered in foul, growth and barnacles.

We did, for the first time, splash out on some expensive ( for us) antifoul and did 2 generous coats, with no scrub off in between launch and lift out either. happy days.

there doesnt seem to be any rhyme or reason .

Before and after approx 30 minutes jetwash. Coppercoat just makes it easier to get the growth off I reckon

Just wondering how long in the water were you .
Looks like you sit in the mud a lot.
Ok. You caught me out! These photos were taken after BC had been sitting on a trot mooring in the Hamble for ‘several years’ when we first bought her. The coppercoat was around ten years old at this point. Now we are slurping around in the mud most of the time there is very little ( if any) growth at all. Although we did have a mouse on board recently if that counts ?

The first winter we spend in Licata Sicily I think it was 2013 come spring some boats couldn't move from there berth and had to be towed to the yard for fouling ,
We was CC and other then our prop we had hardly nothing .
We was in Licata last winter and since they shut the fish farm the fouling was much less .
