Thoughts and prayers are with oGaryo tonight

Guys, just out of theatre for the Angiogram and I am walking on air not due to being sedated as I asked not to be but because it's confirmed absolute that all my blood vessels are normal and if I heard right, the heart is also functioning normally and is undamaged. The remaining worry is the irregular ECG. They're suspecting viral infection or maybe a clot that passed through. Not out of the woods yet until I receive the final diagnosis combining the Angiogram, ultrasound results and further ECG's but am over the moon it's not coronary heart disease. Wooooooooo hoooooooooo :)

so was this all just attention seeking?

in all seriousness that is the best news Gary.

The same thought had crossed my mind James, that and the fact he's got Mrs OGarryO set up in business, perhaps he's going for the "let me take a back seat at breadwinning dear" leaving him more time to play down here at OV:D

Sounds like good news Garry, perhaps just a frightener, to focus what's really important in life. A MI did it for me 17 years ago, there's more to life than graft.

Great news mate, give you a call when we back next week. Gwen will keep an eye on bizzy bee for you.

Not checked-in here for a few days and just seen all the thread! V sorry to hear you were taken unwell and of courses great news that you are on the mend. Best wishes for a fully and speedy recovery.

Sorry for the radio silence, I've been moved to a ward with no mobile signal. Being kept in over the weekend as there is no senior cardiologists working Saturday or Sunday, I bet they are all on their boats :) Cannot leave until the ultrasound scan results are reviewed so that means staying in here doing my utmost not to catch someone else's lurgy today and tomorrow. Still feel ok apart from the lack of sleep, impossible to do so with the ward mayhem.

Nothing much else to report other than George and Bill are no longer at each others throats. George is 86 and in for a multitude of ailments and Bill is I his late 70's with a lung infection. George lent Bill his TV yesterday as Bill's was broken. Bill is refusing to give it back! :). Heated words between the two of them last night so have 'told them' one of them will swap places with me tonight so they can use my Telly. Personally, I think they'd be better off in the trauma ward, bless 'em :) both lovely characters.

Thanks again for the well wishes and jokes, keep them coming, the jokes are keeping me well entertained and the well wishes are heart warming :)

Thanks guys, I need to carry out an oil change and fuel filter change so can Gwen sort that out for me if I tell her where the parts are stored :) seriously though, very much appreciate the gesture, hope you're having fun in the sun.

P.s. sorry for not acknowledging previous offers of help from other forumites, if someone is passing Bizzy Bee this weekend it'd be nice to know she's ok. BB's on C pontoon on the port side midway between Banana Wharf and Pitcher & Piano.

Going back inside now to check if Bill and George have thumped each other

Cheers Gary

Just seen this thread, so a little late to the party. Glad to see things are looking up. Hopefully it's nothing long term and you'll be right as rain in a few days' time.

In the meantime, enjoy the hospital food! :disgust: ;)

Got some great news today, subject to final reviews of the ultrasound scan it's not a heart attack! Thank goodness for that. They're pretty sure it's viral inflamation of the heart following the exertions on the ride coupled with having a virus and being tipped over the breaking point with work stress on the Tuesday. Similar to pericarditis that I had at the age of 18 but this time affecting the heart rather than the sack around it. Booked in for a heart MRI in a month or so to ascertain if there is any lasting damage which they say is unlikely. Dodgy ECG results are being attributed to inflamation too. All post heart attack meds have been stopped and I am now being prescribed anti inflammatory drugs. Couple of weeks off work to relax and let the swelling subside and I should be ready to get back on the bike. Today is a good day :)

See you on the water soon guys, happy boating in the meantime and thanks so much for your support

Great news Gary, and good to hear that you are getting the right treatment. Now, please take the medical advice and disconnect from work for a couple of weeks to let the batteries recharge!
